Getting Spam comments like this is very much common now. The tools like ScrapeBox and Xrumer are well-used in this. The first comment you mentioned seems to be the result of very bad spinning, being the example of a murder attempt not executed properly.

I Googled the comment you marked as a classic and guess what there are 139,000 results having instances of the spun versions of the same comment. I wonder, when and how this mass spamming would stop.

This post now has real spam as comments – yay! I figure that if I take out the URLs and email address from the comment spam then it’s now bad for the interwebs. So bring it on spammers!

I run several blogs myself and I find it infuriating. It seems like an hour of my day is spent just deleting comments which are blatant SPAM. Do you have anything in place to reduce the amount of SPAM you manually have to filter, Grant?

Where does this spam come from? I am constantly getting the exact same messages and it’s very annoying. What I really don’t understand is when I go to click on the website they link back to, they aren’t even selling anything. What’s the point?

The comments are generated from SPAM tools like Xrumer and Scrapebox. The idea is the backlinks generated from the comments will increase their search engine rankings and drive additional traffic to their website(s).

Website webmasters should really look at routes of reducing spammy posts by being much less of a target, rather as compared to combating the spam bots when they are tapping at your web-site

The problem with open source engines for example word press is bot runners checking for somewhat insecure internet sites for spamming comments or security risks to insert malware they’re able to do that since most of these opensources automatically leave an electronic digital foot print on major search engines for instance Google or bing, I’ve created a blog post concerning this on my little web page you should check it out, its definitely prefect for blocking spammy posts and malevolent software, prevent being detected as a target!
